In the days of the Armada, a fleet of warships, the scuttlebutt was the rumor or gossip that would spread throughout the ship. Today, Armada Law Corp presents The Scuttlebutt, a daily summery of news articles that people within the cannabis, hemp and plant medicine industries are chatting about along with links to the full articles.
In today’s news:
#californiacannabis – “An additional 100 social equity applicants in Los Angeles will get an opportunity to apply for cannabis retail licenses after a U.S. district judge refused to halt the lottery selection…
More than 1,200 applicants requested social equity verification and 500-plus qualified, according to the city’s Department of Cannabis Regulation.”
#californiacannabis – “Starting on January 1, 2023, all California employers will be required, upon request, to provide employees and applicants for employment with the “pay scale” for the position in which the individual is either currently employed or to which they are applying. “Pay scale” is defined as the salary or hourly wage range that the employer reasonably expects to pay for the position.
Employers with 15 or more employees will be also required to include the pay scale for a position in any job posting. The law further requires employers to maintain records of a job title and wage rate history for each employee for the duration of the employment and for three years after the end of the employment relationship. Employers who do not comply with this law can be liable for civil penalties up to $10,000 per violation.”

#psychedelics – “Two states have legalized psilocybin, and other states (such as Michigan) have been making noise about being next. But as we saw with state-by-state cannabis legalization, there’s no uniform model yet for how to set up the systems and roll them out.
Oregon voters passed the 2020 Oregon Ballot Measure 109, making it the first state to both decriminalize psilocybin and legalize it for therapeutic use. Colorado, which was the first state to decriminalize psilocybin in 2019, legalized psychedelics-based therapy via Colorado Proposition 122 last month.”
his article was discussed on #highat9news, this morning, by our very own Dale Schafer….
#cannabisindustry – “The founders of e-commerce cannabis company Dutchie who were reported to have left their posts earlier this month have sued its executive chairman and four directors in Delaware’s Chancery Court, seeking a declaration that their removal was invalid and that the two founders are still directors and officers of the company.
Brothers Ross and Zachary Lipson filed their complaint derivatively on behalf of Bend, Oregon-based Courier Plus Inc. — the company they founded in 2017 that does business as Dutchie — against Executive Chairman Timothy Barash and board directors Karan Wadhera, Wilder Ramsey, Gaurav Ahuja and Thomas Linovitz.
The Lipsons allege the defendants conspired in late November to remove the brothers from their officer positions, improperly appoint Linovitz as an independent director, and replace Ross Lipson with Barash as CEO.”
