THE SCUTTLEBUTT FEATURING ARTICLES ABOUT CLEARLAKE CONSIDERS EXTENDING DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENTS AND REDUCING FEES, PSILOCYBIN FOR SALE IN PORTLAND AND MORE

In the days of the Armada, a fleet of warships, the scuttlebutt was the rumor or gossip that would spread throughout the ship. Today, Armada Law Corp presents The Scuttlebutt, a daily summery of news articles that people within the cannabis, hemp and plant medicine industries are chatting about along with links to the full articles.

In today’s news:

#hempproducts – “On November 21, 2022, the FDA issued five warning letters to companies selling CBD, Delta-8, and other hemp products for humans and pets. These letters are notable for the following five reasons:

Warning letters were issued to hemp companies selling products that “people may confuse for traditional foods or beverages,” with an emphasis on products that could be appealing to children

Warning letters addressed products containing cannabinoids other than CBD, including Delta-8 THC, CBG, and CBN

Warning letters were issued for pet products containing CBD

The FDA sampled and tested products to confirm that CBD content matched the product label

FDA cited Facebook posts from several years ago that contained prohibited claims.”

#psilocybin – “On display were typical items. Supplements. Teas. Chocolates. Even jerky.

Plus a not-at-all discreet menu of prices for what the store identifies as different strains of dried psilocybin fungus, including 3.5 grams of “Knobby Tops” for $50 and 7 grams of “Albino Penis Envy” for $95.

“Are you looking for a functional micro-dose? Or do you want to go on a hike with some color enhancement and sparkles?” an unidentified employee asked a customer.”

#californiacannabis – “The Clearlake City Council met Thursday and among their discussions during the Business portion of their agenda, considered the approval of a resolution extending the term for existing commercial cannabis development agreements by seven years, while also temporarily reducing the production fee from 5% to 1%.”

#cannabisindustry – “A judge on Friday upheld a decision by Michigan’s Cannabis Regulatory Agency to suspend the license of a Flint dispensary after the agency tested its products and found they contained unacceptable levels of banned pesticides, heavy metals, mold and bacteria.

After a two-day hearing over the agency’s decision, a judge with the Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules found the CRA “has demonstrated, by a preponderance of the evidence presented to date, that the safety or health of patrons or employees is jeopardized by (their) continued operation.”

The CRA announced two weeks ago it was alerting customers that pre-rolled joints, most of which were labeled “MoonRock blunt,” that were sold or given away as promotional items to consumers from Feb. 10 to Sept. 30 at Green Culture in Flint could contain banned pesticides, heavy metals, aspergillus (a type of mold) and bacteria in amounts exceeding state limits.”
