#cannabisindustry – “Michigan’s Cannabis Regulatory Agency on Tuesday announced that it has summarily suspended the medical and adult-use cannabis licenses for TAS Asset Holdings LLC after determining that it had violated regulations by selling products that had been mixed with illicit cannabis products.
In a press release, the agency said that it has filed formal complaints against the business alleging 23 regulatory violations for each of TAS’s licenses, and in addition put out a Marijuana Consumer Advisory Bulletin warning consumers about the products, which TAS markets as “Space Rocks” under the “Fwaygo Extracts” brand.”
#cannabislaw – “In the same unsigned decision, the circuit panel granted the government’s request for a panel rehearing of the December ruling at issue, saying that the government’s “various positions on the comparability of the federal and state drug schedules” warranted a revisit.
The appellate panel also said a rehearing was worthwhile “to flag some defects in the [government’s] petition’s characterization of the record.”
In the unanimous December ruling under review, the appellate court upheld a lower district judge’s decision not to sentence defendant Vincent Gibson as a career criminal because of the mismatch between federal and state drug schedules.”
#cannabislaw – “In July 2021, Dolginko said he suffered a physical disability and took medical leave, seeking to be reinstated in December of that year under the terms of his union’s collective bargaining agreement.
However, the LIRR mandated that he submit to a drug test before reinstatement, even though Dolginko’s position was not safety-sensitive and there was no reason for the LIRR to think he was impaired by any substances, according to the complaint.
Dolginko says in the complaint that the result of the test was negative for all drugs except for the presence of “marijuana metabolites,” which he alleges do not establish proof of impairment when the test was administered.”
#californiacannabis – “The Encinitas City Council on Feb. 15 approved an amendment to an existing ban on smoking at public beaches, parks and trails to include all public places throughout the city.
The law will go into effect 90 days after officially being adopted into the city code and includes traditional tobacco products, electronic cigarettes and cannabis products.”
